It's frightening how much time has passed since I received the pictures from beautiful bride Agnes who's wonderfully handmade wedding took place at The Garden Barn in Suffolk last summer. Although, a grey Valentine's Day seems like the perfect day to flick back through these gorgeous images as much for me as I'm sure it does for Agnes and her beau Ben!
Agnes and Ben were blessed with the most amazing summer weather on their big day, and so Agnes's vision of a classic English country garden truly came to life. A lover of vintage and a budding crafter herself, nearly all of the wedding was created by the bride; from learning to hand tie a bouquet with her friend to designing her own wedding stationary. Photographer Naomi Kenton captured the day in vivid colour and the lovebirds' joy just radiates!
An avid lover of vintage with a desire to feel comfortable and fuss-free on the big day, the Bride wanted a mid-length dress which would allow her to join in with all the fun of the party! After hours of pinterest curation and trying out different style lines on Agnes at first fitting stage, together we created a dip-hem, boat-necked, fluid Audrey-style dress which flattered her in all the right places. To create movement and keep volume to a minimum we chose a matte silk georgette lined with silk satin for reflection, and we added some pretty crochet and lace trims to set it all off! Agnes felt more comfortable with her arms covered, so a last minute addition was the delicate ivory tulle top edged with the same details as the main dress. Breaking away from tradition the bride sourced some fabulous tan suede block heels adding a further vintage touch, and co-ordinating perfectly with her stylish groom!
This busy bride even found time to make the cutest little bridesmaid dresses and matching ties for the groomsmen using the same Liberty print fabric that inspired the wedding stationery that she designed!
